Amazon Alexa - FREE Workshop/Masterclass in Skills Development

Led by David Low, Principal Evangelist, Amazon Alexa EU, this workshop/masterclass is brought to you by Amazon and the Alexa Devs (Dublin & Belfast chapters) and is intended for developers interested in building voice-driven applications using Amazon Alexa.

By mastering the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK), you'll learn how to build engaging voice experiences for Alexa the service that powers millions of devices, including Amazon Echo and Echo Dot

Pre-requisites

* Laptop (fully charged).
* Developer account: developer.amazon.com (free)
* An AWS account: aws.amazon.com (free - but CC required for signup)
* Download sample templates to your desktop: github.com/amzn/alexa-skills-kit-js
* Map to Location - Irish Aviation Authority, Dublin City Centre.
* Sense of moral compunction - there are limited spaces please please only register if you really can make it!!

David Low is Principal Evangelist for Amazon’s Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) in Europe, and will lead this workshop.

David works with developers to create new and innovate experiences around voice and has held several technical leadership roles during a career spanning almost 20 years. Prior to joining Amazon, he created and led the Developer Relations team at Skyscanner. He has a passion for early adoption of technology, with a particular interest in digital media, and has a track record of working with partners to develop new products, including Skyscanner’s bots and voice services, and Scottish television’s STV Player

2. Space is limited and a workshop place will be assigned on a first come first serve basis with priority given to developers and engineering members of the Alexa Devs Dublin, Alexa Devs Belfast, AWS User Groups Dublin, Cork and Belfast and to representatives of organisations and freelancers actively researching and/or working with voice technologies. We encourage early registration.
3. Organisers will call registrants on Friday 2nd June between 10am and 2pm with the aim of confirming your attendance.
4. Before registering it is your responsibility to read the list of Pre-requisites above and to ensure you have access to the relevant resources at the beginning of the workshop.
5. The event format/agenda is subject to change.
6. This event will be photographed/filmed.
7. In no event will the AWS User Group ireland be liable for any lost data or content, lost profits or revenue, business interruption or damage to goodwill (in eah case whether direct or indirect) or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss).
8. In any event, the maximum liability to you for any claim arising (whether in contract, negligence, tort or otherwise from this Workshop shall be limited to the applicable fee paid in respect of the Workshop that is the subject matter of the claim.
